Tribunal initiates expiry review of anti-dumping duties on grinding media from India

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal initiated an expiry review of its finding made 1n August 2021 to determine if the expiry of the finding is likely to lead to continued or resumed dumping or of certain grinding media from India and is likely to result in injury to the domestic industry.

Under Canadian law, findings of injury or threat of injury and the associated special protection in the form of anti-dumping and/or countervailing duty expire five years from the date of the last order or finding (or its continuation) unless an expiry review has been initiated before that date.

In the first step of the review the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will determine, by December 31, 2026, if there is a likelihood of resumed or continued dumping or subsidizing.

In the event of a positive determination by the CBSA, the Tribunal will determine, no later than June 11, 2027, whether the continued or resumed dumping and/or subsidizing is likely to result in injury to the domestic industry.
