More time needed in CBSA investigation of dumping and subsidizing of certain plywood from China
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced it has extended the preliminary phase of the investigations respecting the alleged injurious dumping and subsidizing of decorative and other non-structural plywood originating in or exported from China.
Under normal circumstances, the preliminary stage of these types of investigations shall be completed within 90 days of the date of initiation. However, due to the complexity or novelty of the issues presented by the investigations, number of persons involved, and difficulty of obtaining satisfactory evidence, the period has been extended to 135 days.
The decision to issue preliminary determinations or to terminate the investigations with respect to some or all of the goods will be made on or before August 24, 2026.
