U.S. signals possible reduction of duties on Canadian softwood lumber

The U.S. Department of Commerce announced the preliminary results for the seventh administrative review of anti-dumping and countervailing duties imposed on Canadian softwood lumber.

If applied, the results would reduce those combined duties on softwood lumber from Canada to approximately 25%, from the current (approximate) 35%.

Since the review results are preliminary, they do not take effect at this time. Commerce is expected to issue its final results in August, at which time they will take effect.
