Tribunal to review expiry of anti-dumping of duties on aluminum extrusions from China

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal initiated an expiry review of its finding concerning the dumping and subsidizing of certain aluminum extrusions originating in or exported from China.

The Tribunal's finding, issued in March 2009 and renewed in 2014, imposed anti-dumping and /or countervailing duties on these goods.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will determine, by August 6, 2019, if there is a likelihood of resumed or continued dumping an/or subsidizing of the goods if the finding is left to expire.

In the event of positive determinations by the Agency, the Tribunal will determine, by January 13, 2020, whether the continued or resumed dumping is likely to result in injury to Canadian manufacturers.

According to statistics published by the CBSA, imports of goods subject to the order totaled $9,960,681 in 2017 and resulted in the collection of $3,913,890 in anti-dumping and/or countervailing duties.
